The Personal Research Project is the final stage of my master’s degree, allowing me to demonstrate expertise in my chosen field of study within the fashion industry. This project showcases your ability to identify a critical issue/ gap in research, conduct thorough research, and design an appropriate methodology to address contemporary challenges. I have critically analyzed primary and secondary data and based my dissertation on the rise of luxury brands collaboration with anime, produced creative and practical recommendations that can be used in the industry to create authentic collaborations, and presented my findings to a professional standard.
This assessment provides an in-depth analysis of successful brand management strategies within the luxury fashion sector, focusing on Prada. It examines key frameworks and strategies such as brand positioning, equity, integrated marketing communications, and digital engagement. The assessment proposes a new marketing strategy for Prada by suggestion to start new product line which includes luxury furniture and interior design as it can help Prada make a name for them self as an luxury lifestyle brand.
This assessment focuses on analyzing the fashion industry through a trend forecasting lens, exploring how trends evolve and impact the sector. I have conducted a 3000-word visual trend report, incorporating both primary and secondary research to identify an upcoming trend that challenges the current industry paradigm, aligned with my MA specialism in luxury brands. The report includes a definition of trend forecasting, a STEEP analysis to explore macro and micro influences, trend mapping, and identifying innovators and influencers. I have applied relevant trend theories, visually translated the findings into key fashion elements such as silhouettes and runway setups, and concluded with a 500-word reflection using the Gibbs Reflective Cycle to evaluate your work and research process
As part of an innovative international collaboration between NTU (UK) and Humber College (Canada), the COIL project provided a unique platform for global engagement in a dynamic and collaborative learning environment.
Our team developed a comprehensive client pitch for the Commonwealth Fashion Council (CFC), proposing a hybrid sustainability-focused fashion symposium and showcase. The event concept combined physical and virtual elements to explore the intersection of technology, sustainability, and fashion innovation. At the end of the module, this pitch was presented to the Head of CFC, UK. Resulting in our group being awarded an online internship with CFC in social media marketing.
Throughout the project, I refined critical skills including leadership, time management, communication, creative problem-solving, and strategic decision-making using the PACADI framework. The initiative emphasised system design thinking, industry client research, market analysis, and teamwork, alongside the application of tools like InDesign to produce professional-grade pitch decks.
This experience significantly enhanced my ability to collaborate effectively within diverse teams, lead complex projects, articulate ideas with clarity and persuasion, and incorporate reflective practices to drive continuous improvement. It was a transformative opportunity that strengthened my expertise in addressing industry challenges through innovative, sustainable solutions.
